A few more details on the AGENT-JUDGED CONTEST :)

So here's where I made the first announcement about the contest. And because I want to give you plenty of time to prepare, here are the next set of details.

I'll be having two submission windows open on the 18th April, which is the day I started my blog last year with this scintillating post.

You'll be needing a query letter and the first five pages of your ms to send to me. At least 10 entries will be chosen  - by me - to skip the slushpile and be seen by an agent. Winners will then be chosen by said lovely agent!

I'll post again soon with details of the submission windows and instructions of where to send your entries!

  10. Hey, I'm a new follower! Just curious if our submission absolutely has to be a from a finished manuscript? Mine's about 85% done. I'm so excited for this contest!

    1. Hi :)

The reason I said it should be a completed ms is because I might choose your work to be seen by an agent. And the agent might like it, choose you as the winner, want to see more, request a full, want to represent you and...oh, you don't have a completed ms.

Now I know that's a lot of 'mights'. Maybe you'll be finished with the ms by the 18th April. Maybe you mean 85% done as in you have a completed draft and you're editing now - I don't know.

I suppose what I'm saying is it's up to you. If your work is in a state where you think it's ready for an agent to possibly see it, then enter. I know how exciting it is to query and get your stuff out there. If you think it just won't be ready in time, then don't. It's your call :)

I put it on my calendar. Hope I'm not at work during your submission window.
